Generalities
One of the most difficult and complex tasks facing
any science student is that of integrating a barrage of intricately
interrelated concepts, theory and applications. Many course components
(e.g., syllabi, problem sessions, labs) are specifically designed
to facilitate this process.
- The process oriented
tools below were designed to query students about their perceptions
of their successes/failures in engaging in the
task of trying to grasp a "big picture," as well as
which course components were most effective in
assisting them in these integration tasks.
- The content oriented
tools below were designed to assess the degree of success that
students had in grasping the "big picture."
